John Alagia started his career as a performer and musician. Music was his life, and his band, Derryberry & Alagia, was collecting fans throughout the Southeast. While attending Georgetown University, John started writing original material for other bands as well as for his own project. He also honed his producing and mixing skills by recording with a variety of bands that opened for him. "Really, ever since I was a little kid, all I wanted to do was put records together," says the Louisville native.

John has done just that. Over the last 15 years he has produced music for artists such as the Dave Matthews Band, Emmylou Harris, David Gray, Ben Folds Five, O.A.R., Edwin McCain, Vertical Horizon, Jason Mraz, Unwritten Law and Grammy winner John Mayer. Collectively his work has sold millions of records.

John makes his home on the eastern shore of Maryland, 90 minutes from Washington, D.C. He's also a member of the board of trustees for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
